We love being involved from the very beginning - even before the plans are drawn. Whether you’ve got a designer on board or need some recommendations, we’re happy to sit down early, offer input, and help shape a build that truly fits your lifestyle, and our unique local environment. After living and building in the area for the past decade, we have an understanding of the unique features of our environment - think cold, heat, wind and of course, the views.

Brad has worked in the construction industry since leaving school, gaining experience across a wide range of roles. From starting out as an apprentice on the Hibiscus Coast to contributing to award-winning architectural builds, he has always enjoyed every stage of the building process - from the first concept right through to final handover. His years in project management before establishing his own company gave him a strong understanding of the full building journey, a perspective he brings to every project.
Nine years ago, Brad and his wife Andrea made the move to Wānaka. Five years later, he founded Optibuild with a vision to create warm, high-quality homes designed for the local environment.
In recent years, Brad has developed a strong interest in passive and energy-efficient building. He has completed his Passive House Tradesperson qualification and is now building his own passive home here in Wanaka.
